- Origin of The Furniture Industry: Grand Rapids furniture company, in the late nineteenth and twentieth century, turned to be one of furniture’s strongholds, developing the industry around the world’s perspective.
- Founded in 1826: The city was established in large part by a French trader, Louis Campau, who set up a fur trading post on the banks of the Grand River which later gave rise to the town.
